What is Microsoft 365?

Microsoft 365 is a Microsoft subscription service that includes access to 365 applications plus other ‘productivity’ tools that are all available over the internet (cloud services). Hull York Medical School provides a licence to Microsoft 365 for all of our staff and students, which gives access to an extensive range of features. This includes 1Tb of data storage, 50Gb email and the ability to download the latest Microsoft 365 on up to 5 devices.

Microsoft 365 includes communication and collaboration tools like email & calendar, Microsoft Teams is used extensively within the school and includes instant chat, discussion groups, conferencing and more.

Your Microsoft 365 account also allows you to access document management features, including real-time co-authoring with familiar Office online apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, easy storage, sharing and retrieval with intelligent search capability, and sharing options for both internal and external collaborators.

Access your Hull York Medical School Microsoft 365 account by logging in to https://www.office.com with your HYMS account (your username in the form hy***@hyms.ac.uk)

Downloading Microsoft 365

Your Hull York Medical School Microsoft 365 account allows you to install Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc) on up to 5 computers (PC or Mac). For further information please see Installing Microsoft 365 software on PC, Laptop or Mac
