Phase 1 Lectures – Student AV Assistant guide

This guide explains how to setup the audio visual equipment in the Hull and York based lectures theatres to support the deliver of Phase 1 MBBS lectures. This guide is designed for the student audio visual assistants but is also useful for anyone involved in the delivery of Phase 1 MBBS lectures.

The processes differ slightly between Hull and York, so please choose the appropriate guide below depending on your location.

Please note that all Phase 1 lectures are automatically recorded using Echo360 and the schedule of recording is managed by the Phase 1 team. Recordings for Phase 1 lectures are scheduled to start at 5 minutes past the hour and should finish at 55 minutes past the hour. If the lecture overruns the recording will not capture this!

    • Select a source to switch on the system. For both the far screen and the near screen select the same source (PC or laptop) on the touchscreen

It is important that the same source is selected for both screens, otherwise the view for students in Hull and the lecture recording may not work correctly!

    • Click on “Replay+” on the touchscreen and turn on the camera and ensure it is correctly pointing at the lectern.

It is vitally important that you switch on the camera, otherwise this will not be visible for students in Hull, or on the recorded lecture! Also, please be aware that the camera automatically switches off at 57 minutes past the hour!

  • Ensure microphone is worn on lecturers lapel and is switched on
