Guide Overview
This guide will explain how to install, set up and sync forms on the MyProgress mobile app. The app allows you to record and evidence work-based assessments whilst on clinical placement. It is available on both Apple and Android devices.

The MyProgress app is available on both Apple and Android. Click on the links to access the Apple and Google app store and download the app.
Open the app and enter the service code ‘hyms’ (lowercase).- Click on the Sign In button to be taken to the log in page.
- You will see a prompt that states the app would like to use ‘b2clogin.com’ to sign in, click on Continue.
- From the log in page, select the login with your University Account button.
- Enter your Hull York Medical School email address (hy****@hyms.ac.uk) and password. You will need to further authenticate via Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). Please access the following link to our MFA help pages for further guidance if required; MFA help pages.
- Upon successful log in, the app will display your MB BS portfolio homepage.

- Click on a section of the homepage to access and complete forms. Please consult the relevant MB BS MyProgress student portfolio guides for detailed guidance about which forms are to be submitted via the online platform or the app.

- From the settings cog in the bottom right-hand corner of the app homepage you can sign out of the app.

- It is important to review your app settings when you first sign in, to control how the mobile app will work for you. You can access the app settings by tapping on the settings cog icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the app homepage.
- Select remember me to ensure you can still sign in and work offline without internet access / a data connection.
- Select only sync over Wi-Fi if you don’t want to use your personal mobile data. If you do select this option, please make sure that you connect your device to the internet regularly to ensure completed assessments are synced with the online system.

- The app is designed to work offline once you have signed in and your assessment forms have synchronised with it. When a form is submitted, the app will check to see if a connection is available. If it is available, the form will sync to the online system automatically.
- If no data connection is available, or if you have selected only to sync via Wi-Fi and there is no Wi-Fi available, the form will be saved as ready to sync.
To view forms waiting to sync, select the In Progress icon on the app homepage menu.
- The app will continue to check in the background for a connection, and when your device is online again (or Wi-Fi is available) it will automatically sync forms with the online platform.
- You can also manually sync forms (with an internet connection). Select the ready to sync option. Select the circular arrow icon in the top right-hand corner of the list of pending forms. If the manual sync is successful the forms will disappear from the pending list on the app and appear on the online portfolio.
