Guide overview

This guide will provide an overview of the MB BS Phase 1 PBL/CS Peer Review process. It will explain how a PBL / CS tutor can review the Peer Assessment of Student Professional Behaviours forms, complete the Tutor Assessment of Student Professional Behaviours form, and release peer feedback to each student.

The steps in this guide will need to be repeated for each student in your PBL / CS group for the relevant PBL /CS Peer Review instance.

Step 1: Review the Peer Assessment of Student Professional Behaviours forms

Peer Assessment of Student Professional Behaviours forms

Before the meeting with your student, you can review each feedback form submitted by their peers about them. You can also review their own self-assessment form. You can also check they have submitted all feedback for their peers. These are the Peer Assessment of Student Professional Behaviours forms. You will review each student individually. You can discuss the content of the feedback during your meeting with each student.

Students will not be able to view feedback from their peers until you manually release peer feedback to them.

Student feedback to their peers is not anonymous for you but it is for the students.

    1. Once logged into MyProgress, select the dashboard icon form the left-hand menu on the homepage.
    2. Then select students.MyProgress staff homepage
    3. The dashboard view of all students will then display. Select the relevant PBL / Clinical Skills group from the drop-down search menu.MyProgress dashboard view

    5. Then select the student’s portfolio overview.MyProgress student portfolio overview
    6. Then select the relevant Peer Review instance.MyProgress peer review overview
    7. The Peer Review tabs will then display.MyProgress peer review forms
    8. To check if the student has submitted feedback for their peers, select view peers on the Peer Assessment of Student Professional Behaviours tabMyProgress view peers option
    9. A pop out window will appear. This will list all the peers this student needed to provided feedback for. It will also state if feedback has been completed. In this example, all feedback has been provided.MyProgress confirmation of submitted reviews
    10. Click on the Peer Assessment of Student Professional Behaviours tab. A summary table and list of responses will display below the tab. From here you can access each feedback form submitted by the student’s peers about them, as well as the student’s own self-assessment form.MyPorgress peer feedback forms
    11. Click on a completed response to see detailed content from a form.MyProgress detailed form content
    12. You can now discuss the content of the Peer Assessment of Student Professional Behaviours forms during your meeting with the student.

Step 2: Complete the Tutor Assessment of Student Professional Behaviours form

Once you have reviewed the Peer Assessment of Student Professional Behaviours forms for an individual student and met with them, you can then provide them with written tutor feedback via the Tutor Assessment of Student Professional Behaviours form.

Prior to your meeting, it is possible to access the Tutor Assessment of Student Professional Behaviours form and prepare and save draft content.

The student will be able to access your tutor feedback straight away once you submit it. There is no action required from the student on the tutor feedback form.

  1. To provide tutor feedback click on create new on the Tutor Assessment of Student Professional Behaviours form tab.MyProgress peer review tutor feedback form
  2. Complete all fields on the form.MyProgress review feedback form
  3. As mentioned above, you can save draft content of the form by selecting save and close draft from the top right-hand corner. You may wish to do this if you are preparing content ahead of the meeting with the student. You will be redirected back to the Tutor Assessment of Student Professional Behaviours tab. Select the drop-down option on complete new to be taken back to your draft form.MyProgress save draft copy option

    If you are writing a large amount of content, it is advisable to additionally copy and paste content onto a separate document outside of the MyProgress platform. This is in case you experience any rare connection issues.

  4. MyProgress submit form optionWhen you are happy with the content of the form, select submit in the top right-hand corner.
  5. Confirm a second time that you are happy with your submission.MyProgress confirm tutor submission
  6. You will be redirected back to the Tutor Assessment of Student Professional Behaviours tab and a brief ‘successfully submitted’ message will appear in the bottom right-hand corner.submission success message
  7. Click on the Tutor Assessment of Student Professional Behaviours tab to view the submitted form. As mentioned above, your tutor feedback will be visible to the student straight away.MyProgress tutor submitted form

Step 3: Release peer feedback to the student

Release peer feedback

Once you have reviewed the Peer Assessment of Student Professional Behaviours forms, had your tutor meeting and submitted your tutor feedback via the Tutor Assessment of Student Professional Behaviours form, you can release the peer feedback to the student.

You can bulk release peer feedback or you can release each feedback form individually.

Please ensure to check you are happy that all peer feedback is respectful and professional before releasing it to the student. Peer feedback remains anonymous to the students after it is released.

Please note that you can release peer feedback before the tutor meeting if you prefer that students view peer feedback before attending.

Option 1: Bulk release peer feedback to a student.
  1. Bulk release responses by selecting release responses from the Peer Assessment of Student Professional Behaviours tab.MyProgress peer review release responses tutor option
  2. Confirm again you wish to release content. Ensure you are happy to release content as you cannot undo this action. MyProgress peer feedback confirm release content
  3. A ‘successfully released’ message will appear in the bottom right-hand corner.MyProgress successfully released message
  4. The student will now be able to access feedback from their peers.
Option 2: Individually release peer feedback to a student.
    1. Click on the Peer Assessment of Student Professional Behaviours tab. Click on a completed feedback response from one of the student’s peers.MyPorgress peer feedback forms
    2. Select the release this response option in the top right-hand corner of the form. Ensure you are happy to release content as you cannot undo this action and will not be prompted to confirm a second time.MyProgress release response option on a form
    3. The student will now be able to access the feedback from their peer.
