Installing software on managed PC’s
Classroom PC’s come with all the available software installed.
A range of common software packages are available to download and install on your personal device (PC or Mac). Follow the link below to view available software, download it, and access licence codes. Please note that a York IT account login is required to retrieve licence codes.
HYMS – Hull Desktop
Staff PC’s have a basic range of Software Installed, additional packages can be Installed from the Software Center
To access Software Center:
- Open the Start menu and type “Software Center” (note the US spelling) into Windows Search. It will appear in the list of results.
Classroom PC’s come with all the available software installed.

York Virtual Desktop Service (VDS)
The VDS is accessible via your York and account.
The VDS provides access to a wide range of software (See link below for information on accessing the VDS)
Accessing the Hull Azure Virtual Desktop
The Azure Virtual Desktop Service hosted by Microsoft allows you to remotely access applications that you use on the Hull campus from anywhere with an internet connection.
