What is Eduroam Wi-Fi?

Eduroam (education roaming) is the secure, world-wide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community. Eduroam Wi-Fi allows students, researchers and staff from participating institutions to obtain Wi-Fi internet connectivity across campus and when visiting other participating institutions, using their home credentials.

User credentials (username and password) required to connect to Eduroam Wi-Fi and connection locations

It is possible to connect with Hull York Medical School credentials, as well as York and Hull University credentials. Users can access Eduroam with these credentials wherever there is an Eduroam connection available.

You can connect to any hotspot with any of your credentials, you do not need to match credentials to the site you are at (for example, you can be logged into Eduroam with Hull University credentials whilst on the York University campus).

It is possible to connect to Eduroam at York and Hull University campuses and some NHS sites. There are also many other locations nationwide where connection is possible. Please click on the following link to access the UK interactive map of available connections; Eduroam interactive map.

  • Scunthorpe Hospital Education Centre
  • Grimsby Hospital Education Centre
  • Scarborough Hospital
  • York Hospital

Once you have set up your device with an Eduroam connection you can then automatically connect when in range of an Eduroam Wi-Fi hotspot.
